Security Products
Includes cameras (doorbell cameras, indoor cameras, and outdoor cameras), door/window sensors, motion detectors, smoke/carbon monoxide alarms, water/temperature sensors, and control panels.

Smart Home
Devices like smart locks, thermostats, lighting controls, and energy management tools allow remote access via the Vivint app for tasks such as adjusting temperatures, locking doors, or viewing live feeds from anywhere.

Professional Services
Professional installation by “Smart Home Pros,” 24/7 monitoring with rapid emergency response, and app-based control. Systems integrate with voice assistants like Amazon Alexa and Google Home for hands-free operation.

Key Responsibilities
for Pros
System Installation
Install wireless/wired security devices such as cameras (e.g., doorbell and outdoor models), door/window sensors, motion detectors, control panels, smart locks, thermostats, and lighting controls. This includes mounting equipment, running necessary wiring, and integrating devices into a unified smart home ecosystem.
Testing & Optimization
Thoroughly test all components to verify functionality, troubleshoot issues like connectivity or signal strength, and customize setups based on the home’s layout and customer needs. Use Vivint’s tools to ensure reliable operation.
Customer Education & Support
Explain system features to homeowners, demonstrate app usage, and provide basic troubleshooting guidance. Deliver exceptional customer service to build trust in you and Vivint.
Maintenance & Repairs
Perform service calls for system upgrades, repairs, or reactivations.
Sales
Integration
Pros are expected to identify upsell and referral opportunities as well as other benefits during installs/service tickets using the Sales and Install Process (“SIP” for short).

Daily Duties

Daily duties typically involve 1-4 installations per day during peak summer season with travel within a designated territory using a personal vehicle.

A large majority of Installs are performed same day of when the sale occurs and can last 2-4 hours.

These same day installations normally get dispatched from early afternoon to late into the evening.

In addition, the role demands working in varied environments, including attics, ladders, and tight spaces.

Smart home pros are expected to service their own installations which is normally done in the morning or early afternoon.

Qualifications & Requirements
Experience
No formal certification or experience is required, but a mechanical or troubleshooting background is a plus.
Physical Demands
Lift and carry up to 45 lbs., climb ladders up to 11 feet, bend/kneel/crouch for extended periods, and work in confined spaces like attics.
Skills
Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and communication abilities. Ability to work independently or in teams. Basic understanding of wiring, wireless tech, and data principles is helpful but not mandatory.
Other
Valid driver’s license with a clean record; must pass background checks. Comfort with technology and being in customers’ homes is essential. We offer paid training programs covering product knowledge, the Sales and Install Process, and safety/compliance protocols.
